Impact

As illustrated by the timeline and narrative in the History section, the members of the Palo Alto Woman's Club were pioneers in enhancing the quality of life for Palo Altans throughout the 20th century. They led the way in times when few philanthropic institutions existed and government support of schools, libraries, and public health was more limited. Today, the Club's charitable efforts focus on programs that benefit women and children.

Each year members of the Club propose organizations they feel should be supported by the Club. Those organizations are invited to submit applications. Our Philanthropy Commitee hosts fund raising activities throughout the year and then allocates grants to groups from that list. The number of grants varies from year to year. As you see from the list of past recipients, these include cultural, educational, and social service organizations. We are glad we are able to make a difference!
